Ahh, "blame shifting", an old scheisster lawyer's trick elevated to cultural fine art during the last decade. Yes, am surprised more didn't write in on this one.
We are supposed to blame ourselves for the criminal negligence of the CRA's, is that it? Well why not, like their fellow inbred intermarried cousins the banks and collectors, they are just doing that which they do best. Namely, misleading customers into lifetime loan traps. When customer cries foul, the slimballs with the savoire faire of a concentration camp guard tell them they brought it upon themselves.
Well put, this forgotten little story needs to be told from time to time to remind people that when they hear tales of 'criminals' stealing identities, it's not the variety of crook who wears a mask and carries a gun. It's the matte-haired shiny-suit businessman CRA exec who sells off our personal information to anyone who will pay for it. Thank you, had forgotten about this
gem of a story.

Shinily,

Keyser Soze
