The FTC has always had a reputation of "doing nothing" as far as consumers are concerned, unless it was high profile or news worthy. If it makes the 5:00 news the FTC will always chime in (doesn't mean the will do anything). Otherwise you are better off with your state AG. And yes, it only got worse with the Bush administration. A guy who want's to privitize over 50 percent of the government workforce should probably start with the worthless FTC.
