Johnny, Do NOT tell me that I know nothing about IP addressing. I have been in network and web server administration for a number of years and I know EXACTLY what I 'm talking about. What you FAIL to understand is the function of FIREWALLS - which is what AOL uses for ALL users. I work for a company from which I access the internet. My INTERNAL IP is unique, however if you look at the IP for my posts and were to look at the IP for one of my co-workers, you would find the SAME IP address for BOTH of us - THE IP OF THE FIREWALL that we go thru to access the internet. The same holds true for AOL or any of these other 'shell' services. AOL users DO get a unique IP, from AOL, when they dial in or connecto to AOL. HOWEVER, as I've stated before, AOL users go thru FIREWALLS to get to the internet from INSIDE the AOL shell service. Those firewalls will show that multiple users have the same PUBLIC IP address - but it is NOT the individual's IP assigned when they dialed into AOL, it is the public IP address of the AOL FIREWALL. THAT is what YOU need to understand and AOL itself has published this information and facts for the world to see. I suggest you go do some reading. YOU'RE the one who doesn't know what you're talking about.
