Do you mean BOTH of them signed for it originally?

Did he take any step to close the account, or was it just not used?

If took any steps to close the account, such as sending back the credit cards, or sending notification that the account was closed, then they would need to show that he signed something to reopen the account.

He could claim fraud and forgery if she signed his name to anything to "reactivate" the account.
