The police did not give them "permission". What a repo person does is call the local police and advise them what they are doing so that when the car is called in stolen the police can respond with it is being repoed. In this case though it appears that the car was stolen. The repo guy should have checked throughly and the oops from the finance company in inexcusable.

SUE THEM ALL!!
