Observer is right about the SOL - pull your credit reports, or your records and find out when you actually last paid the original creditor.

As for your question, a copy of ONE old statement is a very sorry attempt at validation and a far cry from what is actually necessary for them to prove you owe anything.

Check your records or credit reports. If you're beyond the SOL, just send the SOL letter. If you're not beyond the SOL, send those losers at CI a 'sorry but your pathetic attempt at validation doesn't prove a thing and isn't proper validation' letter - and it'll stall them until the SOL DOES run out.
