The time it takes to get judgement is more under your control than you might imagine. Even if the nice, king, loving friends at the CA file in timely fashion - and time is indeed running out - they must get you to court and prove their rancid, dripping garbage bag, chancroid case.
This is where you come in. You have friends on this board. You have an information treasure in this board. Simply put, these litter box snakes play a cynical numbers game, the outcome most desired is that you'll be served and not show in court. They are awarded a default judgement, and shortly thereafter proceed to make your life miserable.
But you foiled them. If they manage to serve you, you answer the suit in timely manner. Congratulations, you've just cost them money. Now they have to file scary written documents for you to answer, such as Admissions, Production, and Interrogatories. You can learn how to do all that here. Generally, you plead ignorance and toss the ball back in their stinking, fetid, vomitose court. Hey, they invited you to this stupid extortion party by force of law, let them provide the refreshments for crying out loud.
By exercising every legal right and resource at your disposal you cost them money, which they'd rather obtain than spend. Sometimes, merely answering a suit causes these scabrous sand fleas to go harass someone else.
