Hello! I recently pulled my credit report to see what it looked like and found that a credit card (store card) was still on there, that I had forgotten about.

Its only $700.00 but I have a few questions. This was from Montgomery Wards, which has gone bankrupt and out of business and its from 1997. It has been transferred over to Midland Credit and I have had no contact with these people. This is on my credit report so i guess i have to pay?? Is there a way i can get it reduced since the true amount should be $400.00 and I had no contact with them? I'm assuming the extra $300.00 is from interest, but can they charge interest if the card has been deactivated since 1997? What are the SOL's for Missouri for a store credit card when the store is bankrupt and out of business??

Thanks for any information!
