i'm having a similar deal with northland. they sent me a
settlement offer stating they were collecting for a store
name listed "hfn-associates college" what ever that is?
i think it's from an old MBNA account, because they say
they are represeting sherman acqt. (another CA who
was trying to collect the MBNA account)
you can check to see if they are licensed in iowa online.
in illinois it's the dept. of professions website, but check
your securtary of state web site first or do a search
online and put in "licensed collection agencies in iowa"
or something like that...
i'm wondering if what they are don is illegal since they
are stating inaccurate accounts....
