what state are you from: Georgia My husband is being sued in superior court by ford motor credit co. for a voluntary repo... that occured late last year. He is 100% permanently and totally disabled and receives only social security disability and VA benefits only. We are about to move by the 1st of next month out of a house we now own and is in his name only. we are going to be leasing when we move so we won't own anything creditors can get. I am his fiduciary because he has been rated incompetant to handle funds by the va, I am also his rep. payee thru soc. security and our money goes in thru direct deposit. To my knowledge our bank acct. is protected because it says my name (for) my husbands name on the acct. we do not have enough money now to make ends meet as it is and ford wants 15,000 from us. What kinds of suggestions can you recommend, we are in a terrible fix. We also have some money we will receive form our home equity when we move and want to protect it from creditors. I am being sued in magistate court for credit card debt also. We both had excellent credit history until my husband became disabled. he will no longer be working. We will file an answer to the summons before we leave. Thanks. needanswer
