Ford is going to waste a lot of money suing your disabled husband for funds they have little or no hope of getting their grubby hands on !!

How much equity is in your home ? GA has a $10,000 exemption (recently changed from 5,000). If you have 10K or less in equity, the worst they could do is place a lien on the property. If they do that before you can sell, they'll have to be paid before you can sell it.

I'm not sure about protecting the equity if you sell later, unless you put that money away in an ERISA-qualified retirement account that they cannot touch (exempt).

Your income, if its all his disability, is 100% exempt anyway - they can't touch it.
