Midland Credit Management? LOL a bad debt buyer.. send them a certified letter that says you have no intention of EVER paying the alleged debt and to stop contacting you. You might also mention in the letter that you understand your legal rights, the debt is no longer reportable to any Credit reporting agency, and past any state law that would require you to pay. Sometimes if you only say "quit contacting me" they continue anyway because they think you don't know every legal angle to stop them. Put it all in writing from the start.
