SOL in SC & TN

I noticed in one of your comments you mentioned you used to live in Greenville, SC and now live in TN. I currently live in SC, and my husband lived in TN and has debts from accounts acquired in both states that I'm trying to deal with now.

Where would I go to find SOL info for either state? I noticed you said credit card SOL in SC is 3 years. Does this apply to credit cards issued from stores like Sears, Goodyear, etc, or just major cards like VISA or MasterCard? Also, what SOL would apply to accounts like Verizon cell phone accounts for SC?

One other related question . . . if you or anyone knows the credit card SOL in TN, I'd sure appreciate it. I'm assuming the SOL is based on where the account is obtained and not where you're currently living, although I guess that assumption could be incorrect.
