Well- I am glad your little girl has enough smarts to know that letting her mommy ge upset over nasty bill collectors is not a good idea.

Mo. is a 1 party taping State, which means if an abusive bill collector calls, you can tape him/her without tellin them.

You have no worry about your husband's pay being garnished, or yor family car being seized (if you are both on the title) The same goes for your home, if it is jointly owned and you are the only one who signed on the card.

Take "Lady"'s advice, get caller id, or let an answering machine answer all your calls. You can always pick up the phone if it is someone you WANT to talk to.

Is this your only debt? Is your husband behind with any other accounts,or joint accounts?

Sit down and figure out what your budget should be for your family, the neccessities FIRST, some savings for emergencies SECOND, credit card bills LAST.

If you try to pay some of your cc bills and not others, it will just make it harder for you to deal with them.

If you have to, stop paying on all except the very lowest balance ones, pay those off, wait 60 days and file BK. You can start using them again 60 days after final discharge.
