JBC scumbags

Over the last few months we have been dealing with JBC over a bounced check from about 5 years ago totaling $350.00.The check is legit (i was going through a really rough patch of my life then) We agreed to pay it in two installments. We paid 200 dollars through an ach transaction and a couple weeks ago tried to pay the remaining balance. I emphasize TRY b/c now they say we owe 1300 dollars b/c when they did the ach transaction from our bank, the funds were not avaible until 3 to 4 days later thus our agreement was null and void. I find that hard to believe since my bank statements clearly show that the funds were available at the time and of course it take a few days to clear the bank due to the fact that it was done on late friday afternoon. We went ahead and sent the remainder of the original debt but of course they are still threatening me with court and arresting me. Solutions?????
