WhyChat, I have not actually talked to the CA since 6/27. They keep calling my cell phone and leaving messages. How they got the number I'll never know since it is a private, unpublished number.

I'll double check but I think our magistrate court tells you that you are welcome to hire an attorney to represent you but that 1) you are not allowed a court appointed attorney and 2) it basically isn't necessary.

The CA "dared" me to come to court without an attorney. I think I'm doing well so far on my own without one though. I'm taking advice well and doing my research. I think the CA realized half-way through that one phone call that I'm not a stupid female like he wanted me to be.

I used to work for a CA (secretarial) so I do know some ins and outs of the business.

So far, I am working on filing complaints with the FTC, state attorney general, countersuit for violating FDCPA (will try for $1,000 for each violation).

Attempted extortion.....good one!
