Sounds VERY suspicious - sounds BOGUS ! NCO tried pulling that trick on me until I got wise to their deceptions. Call the courthouse ASAP. If there is no lawsuit against you there, then you have them in a violation of the FDCPA for deceptive practices - pretending their letter is an official court document !!! If there is no real lawsuit, no Answer is necessary unless you WANT to settle. How old is the debt, when did you last pay the original creditor ?
