Well, apparently the mailman tried to deliver certified mail from the courthouse today, damnit. I don't know who is suing me at the moment, although I do have a pretty good idea. They always send the stuff back out regular mail if you don't pick it up, so I'm just going to sit tight and wait on it rather than pick anything up.

My question is, I'm an independant contractor with a company in another state. I live in Ohio. If they manage to somehow get a judgement against me, can they garnish my wages? I've heard there is something where they can garnish Independant contractor wages, and they can take all of the income for up to 2 years at a time! I can't remember offhand what they call it. Can they still do this when I live in one state and get paid from a company in another? This is a small company and they don't have any offices anywhere else but the state they're in.

If this is the account I am thinking of, it is past SOL, but they have all the proof they need that it's mine and with the Ohio 15 yr written contract thing, I don't know if I can get past a judge with the 4 year SOL or not and I want to be prepared to settle if necessary as I cannot afford to have my wages garnished, let alone lose my whole check.

Thanks!
