Choicepoint?

Who can I sue for reporting false information?

On Friday, got a cancellation letter from my insurer because (and this is news to me!) my driver's license was suspended in March. They got their information from Choicepoint, who has an automated system and I could not reach a live person. So, the system said I would receive my free report in 2 weeks.

So I went to the DMV, figuring Choicepoint pulled another person's file. DMV confirmed suspension - apparently their notice did not arrive - because the driver that ran a stop sign and hit me reported I did not have insurance. My accident report noted both of our insurers and policy numbers. Now, I have take my policy back to DMV - fortunately, I retained copies and renewal since 1998. Then I have to get all the other reports fixed.

What a hassle - I could have lost my job over this! I have to travel frequently and have rented several autos in the past 4 months.
