You're already half way through the sol. Is there a particular reason that you need to file bk? Chapter 7 is when you have credit card debt and are behind in mortgage payments which you can't get caught up on. Chapter 13 allows a homeowner to divide the past due mortgage payments over 3 to 5 years and be able to keep their home.
