We have a joint checking account that his pension gets deposited into. We now have a separate account in his name for his disability benefits. Social Security has determined he's unable to manage his money and I am his rep payee. My lawyer says the joint account is not a problem, since my name has to be on the account due to my husband's condition. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I'll transfer funds out of the joint account when they hit, just to be safe.
