I want to buy a house in the beginning of year 04 but I have seven chargeoff and one repo. I've called several collection agencies to offer a settlement and request removal of negative data but was still turned down. These accounts have been in collection since 1999/2000. Some of the accounts are being transfer/sold to other collection agencies. This mean my seven years will never end. My debt is 19,000. I was thinking bankruptcy but then again there has to be another way out. The collector told me that if settled, it will be reported as settled for this amount but will still show the orginal amount as well. This is still bad/negative. Still no improvement of rating/score. Can anyone help me?
