Hi all! I have a situation for ya to figure out. My mom has a 95 cryhsler lebaron convertible and she got the car through what we call a buy here pay here lot in south carolina for 4700.00 that is her payoff. Well her car pmt is 180.00 a month she got her car in march 2001 and my mom made all pmts on time except for dec of 2002 she got sick and went into the hospital she stopped making pmts so from Dec 2002 until april 2003 there were no pmts made but my mom kept in touch with dealer and dealer was aware of situation and now my mom is making pmts again but is trying to get a new car and the old dealer is saying that my mom owes 2772.00 but my mom was suppose to own the car in march of 2003 this year so if my mom stopped paying for 5 months with pmts at 180.00 how does she owe 2772.00 and the new dealer called and asked how much was the principal the old dealer says it is the same as the payoff which she claims is 2772.00 which is no right. Can someone please help me?!
