I'm single parent who can't find a job and receiving unemployment for the last 4 months. I have just received a notice from the IRS claiming that I owe them money for 2001. I'm just barely suriving and can't take on any more debt such as interest and late fees....The debt is overwhelming and I can't not cope..I'm not a deadbeat, and I've been trying to pay the bills I have now, and can barely keep up....taking care of my two kids...Here's the following debt: Judgement with SBC for yellow page ad $2,000
IRS back taxes 2001 $3,000
STATE AFDC back payments $2,000
AT & T cell phone $600 Is there anything I can do, or seek help to get rid of debt....I really want bankruptcy to be my last resort to get rid of debt!...Is there any type of grant I can apply for in my situation...I'm facing hardship financial problems and can't cope with the debt, just barely able to pay my basic bills and take care of my two kids with the unemployment checks that I'm receiving. When I do get a job, is always a low paying job, and I'm living from paycheck to paycheck just barely surviving....
