The BK is the same, the bill was a guaranteed pass last November, 2002 after the elections,it has been a guaranteed pass many times yet has not passed. Poor little collectors, sad lil' bankers!
Seems people have caught on to the ruse, the high-minded blather about 'people need to be responsible for their debts' being met with 'lenders need to be responsible and quit making exploitive loans' by way of retort.
Just too much garbage has leaked past the wet seams of the paper trash bag otherwise known as the 'credit & collections industry', more it seems than the public is able to stomach without vomiting all over their newly-shined cha-cha pumps.
Bear in mind this reform bill has been floating around since about 1996 when bankers' hysterical claims about zillions of BK's prompted Congress to do something, along with about fifty million dollars or more of 'incentive'.
Now the economy is what it is and there is little patience for bankers crybaby bunkum. People realize that of all the corporate collapses during the last three years, the three worst ever for the stock market in this century and never mind what they tell you about the depression, no Banks have failed. Yet they whine like cornfed stuck-porkers for more bennies from Congress. Not likely anytime soon. Oh, boo hoo.
