OK, guys...FDCPA provides that district court or "any court of competent jurisdiction" is proper venue to bring suit pursuant to violations of FDCPA.

I have figured out that I can't sue in small claims as these jackasses have no registered agent in Cali...I am leaning toward federal district court now. Cali's long arm statute and case law seem to me to provide enough to confer jurisdiction. I intend to pursue in forma pauperis for the fees--believe me, it will be pretty easy to prove that there's just nothing left after current expenses are met!.

In between, of course, is the LA County Superior Court...can anyone think of a reason to file there rather than federal district court? Also, would love to see sample or actual complaints filed in either superior or fed district court for FDCPA violations if anyone happens to have them...not something the judicial council has seen fit to memorialize in one of their lovely forms lol.

Thanks again,

-ET
