I posted this below but I am afraid no one isreading it because of the subject line. Someone please give me advice to deal with these people tomorrow.

My wife recently co signed for a credit card with someone. This person skipped town and no one can find him. My wife received a copy of her credit report and saw what was going on. She than contacted the company and tried to make an arrangement. The account is about 6 months behind, so the SoL is out of the question. My wife did not get a thing out of the card and actually applied for it when she was in a maniac state. My question is what is the best way to resolve this? The total amount is $2500. I can not pay this as together my wife and I are in a debt consoladation program. I am not listed on the account at all. I have read here how they haress people and they have already called her father and told him that she was dodging their calls. It is my understanding that they can not call a third party for no other reason than to find where the person is. Since, they already knew where she was they were in the wrong. I feel that these people are going to be a$$holes about this, but what is best action to persue and with the less amount to pay them.
