Well, in theory perhaps. Look, apparently the CA's have taken the path trodden by all moralistic psychos. The Hitlers, Stalins, Maos, all had this warped sense of high minded ideals. It doesn't matter to these characters that the debt is long out of statute, they don't care that it's not even yours. They probably don't care about taping you and using it. After all, their vomitose refrain uttered with the religiosity of the scumbag is, "After all, you do owe the money." This is you cue - in their minds - to fall down prostrate before them and beg for more lawsuits as you so fittingly deserve.
If they tape you , and that is very iffy even in a one party consent state, how do they prove the voice on the tape is you? Right, they can't without a lot of expertise and acoustic samples. Unless of course you confess that this is you which of course you will simply deny any knowledge of this.
Some of these vile dullards such as AssXXXX Acc-septic will include 'notes' taken by their 'collections professionals' alleging that you threatened them when they called and so forth. Bullshale to all of it. They don't attach a supporting affidavit with any of this garbage becase to do so might cost even the Dean himself some jail time. And there's nothing worse than having millions in blood money and no place to spend it except the prison shower. See?
A lot hinges upon just how much you admit, and you of course admit nothing. They started this. They threw the first punch, you throw the last.
Criminal cases in which audio tapes are made by surreptitious recording cost thousands to millions. Experts fight over the authenticity of the tapes, are they continuous or edited and if so why? Nope, they are full of it.

Fully,
