Dear LM - Sounds like they are stalling for time in hope of making a graceful exit. Nice that the lawyer was civil to you but remember she is still the enemy. Chairman Mao and "Dr." Castro have their charming sides as well, caveat debtor. The Mediator is standard. Around here you get two flavors, the gout-ridden gabardene clad old poofters who brag about their years in banking and mid-life gals built for prison yard details in dire need of depilatory treatments. Yes indeed, tediously predictable, they turn on you when they realize you won't take the candy and do as they please. Scott mentions an old trick of theirs as well, trying to convince you that you don't know what you're talking about. This is standard. When a debtor asserts their rights and offers to countersue for very credible reasons they say:"Awww, now let me tell you what's going to happen..." They proceed to tell you how you will be shipped to a prison camp in the Gobi Desert, your kids placed in slave labor factories to work twenty hour days making doo-dads sold at discount stores, your dog will be permanently infested with fleas, it just goes on and on. This is good. This tells you that they are hearing you, recognizing your strength and acumen. They are telling you that in many ways they are sorry they messed with you and would really like to make use of the nearest restroom. They are telling you that you are winning, thus no commissions from the credit card company for them to split out at the dog track. You've now cost them money and worse, made them look like the bunch of smelly old tossers they in fact are in front of the judge. Remember, court time is expensive. Yes judges may be partial more to the enemy than to us but ultimately it's their courtroom and they don't like their calendar cluttered with a bunch of nuisance suits. If these dumb bunnies had anything solid they would have been more than ready to present it straightaway on pre-trial day and they didn't. You are on your way. WhyChat recommends you object. As well, be sure to file complaints with FTC and the FL Div. Consumer Affairs and - if you've no doctor to tell, at least note all discomfort and upset in a diary. Every week or so have the pages date-time stamped at either the courthouse or perhaps even a friendly bank. The fake 'mediator' will deny it of course, but contemporaneous notes taken down by you during and after events are in fact admissible evidence, the mere posession of which by you frightens these cheap shot cowards. Now the playing field is level, as they say. Poor AssXXXX. Contemporaneously, Keyser Soze
