Don't speak another word to these rats. Send them a Cease and Desist letter, form available on this board. Tell them to communicate in writing and as well to put their payment records in writing.
If they've taken payments and somehow or other can't just seem to 'locate' them, why not file complaints with the FTC and your state AG. Many a time a nice letter describing the sleazy conduct of these 'collections professionals' will prompt a friendly note from the regulatory agency by way of encouraging them to leave you in peace.
