Why Chat, If I answered the court summons by stating that I denied the statements contained in the petition filed by the plaintiff, doesn't collection stop until the plaintiff sends me verification of the debt? If this is so, why did the plaintiff mail me a a interrogatories and request for production of documents? Did I have to ask for verification of the debt? When I denied the statements contained in the petition filed by the plaintiff in court did that not stop the collector by law from trying to further collect the debt until I receive the verification of the disputed debt? If so, when the dc sent me the interrogatories request the opening letter asked for me to call the office if I wished to resolve the matter without undue work and expense. Is this not considered an attempt to collect the debt? I do refuse to call to make an attempt to settle the debt. I tried to call them to settle the debt as soon as I received the summons, in which I was rather rudely told that I could send good faith payment of 250.00 but the lawsuit would not be stopped. I asked to make payment arrangements, I also was denied this. I asked you If I had to respond to this interrogatories letter, but if they have not verified the information in the lawsuit, is the ball not still in their corner? Thanks again.
