non permissable purpose

(I had to look at that twice as well :))

Kelly,

But can a debt collector (collecting for creditor who's trying to collect a discharged debt) who stops calling still be sued for the violation? They stoped as soon as I sent them the cease and desist letter.

Are they both responsible for the non permissable pulls? Where does it say that - if I had to cite something since they'd probably object if I took them to small claims over it.
