If you are in Florida you are in good shape, if this settlement is in any way disability income this may well be exempt from garnishment. It's a waiting and numbers game with these creeps, and yes a game indeed is what it is to them. The rest of us take it rather seriously I'm afraid and have rather long memories for the scumbag antics of the psycho-chicken bullies otherwise known as 'collections professionals'.
Keep in touch, am in FL, have some rough knowledge of how things - ha ha - 'work' in this state.
