It should come off your report in 6 months, if you can wait on your home purchase, do so.

The judgment is not enforceable in you present State unless it is renewed and certified in Ill. and then filed in your current State.

If you contact anyone to "settle" you will probably wind up having to pay the whole thing,as the creditor having obtained your current address,and being made aware of your need to get it cleared,will certainly renew it and fie it against you in your current State (if it's laws allow).

If you MUST close on your home sale NOW--you can request that the amount showing as due, be escrowed at closing for 1 year, at that time it will be beyond the permitted refiling date for the judgment, and you can obtain an affadavit from an Ill. lawyer stating that the judgment is beyond the renewal period and get the escrowed funds released to you.
