I guess now I am a bit confused. If paying these off now isn't going to help my credit score at all then what is the point in doing it? According to what I pulled tonight, all of these are scheduled to drop off record in 2007 or 2008. I probably won't be finished with my post-doc work until about that time so I could easily postpone buying a home until then.

I currently live in Arizona and this is where all of these debts were incurred; however, I am planning on moving to Indiana or Illinois in about 18 months (not sure if that matters).

I guess now my real question is how do I fix my credit score? I have a partially secured visa right now that I am making prompt payments on and usually I carry no balance but 1 little credit card isn't going to raise me from 500 to 700+ in the next few years.

I'll be happy to list the debts if you tell me exactly what you want to know.. I'm a bit new to all of this so please bear with me :)
