Unfortunetly we fell on hard times and have had our car repossesed in February. We were 3 payments behind at the time and without notice of course they took the car which is their right. We had made payments on the car for 4 years and the car on trade in would have gotten more than was remaining on the loan. Suddenly about 7 weeks ago I got a call demanding $7000 which is more than I owed at the time of repossession. I asked them for something in writing and gave them my new address. The car was purchased in Georgia but I have now returned home to Canada - Chrysler did have my Canadian address. I continued to receive calls from Chrysler for several weeks (they kept leaving an 866 number which I can't call from here) but they never sent me the requested information. Last week I started getting a call from someone at SRA Associates in New Jersey I called this evening and left a message but I don't feel like taking the abuse from them so don't plan on answering the phone. I had wanted to respond in writing to Chrysler but could never get an address to respond to. How should I respond to them? We have sold our house in Georgia and have paid all other amounts owed but I don't feel this is justified given the value of the car and the amount owed. They said they will get a judgment and attach it to my credit. What does that mean? What will it mean to me since I am now living in Canada? Who are these people SRA Associates?

Thanks for any advice
