Of all the credit counseling/debt negotiation/settlement/management companies out there, 98% of the are a SCAM and will hurt you more credit-wise than practically anything else you could do -- and you PAY them to ruin you.

Bankrutpcy will get it over faster and you'll recover much quicker and easier with diligence and care in how you handle credit post-discharge.
