First things first. Euterpe laid out the elements of the tort of libel. They must prove all of them in order to prevail. If the subject that is suing is a public figure, you may have a defense there as well. As for bankruptcy, I suggest you contact a bankruptcy attorney now and find out if that judgment can be discharged in a chapter 7.
