Most of all cases are frud, You need to ask for a copy of what is trying to be collected. Never agree to pay them, SOL ( statue of Limiations) is about four to six years depends on what state you live in.In California it is 4 years. If you agree to pay them or even make a small payment then the statue is going to start over. When the agreement is made verbly is good for 2 years. Writen 4 years. I am dealing with them myself on a matter right now. I am mailing them and e-mailing them this info. Hopefully they will get it. If they keep harassing you, after this period of time threaten them with a counter suit for harassment. It should shut them up. Good LUCK
