I just received a call from CAMCO stating I owe a debt that last had activity on it in 1990. It sounded fishy to me right away. They faxed me some documents that also have red flags to me ( a non-legal person ). Stating the principal amount was $1267.53 but the balance was now $2644.58. They are asking for $760.52 for a full account settlement. Why is this debt, which I am not sure I owe, just finding me now, I didn't fall off the face of the earth for 13 years? What do I do now? I saw on the BBB site they have well over 150 complaints in the last 3 years. This "debt" does not show on my credit report. How should I handle this???
