RMA a big collection agency. If does a lot of work for American Express and MBNA just to name a few. I also think that they have a sister company that they will transfer your account to if RMA doen't succeed in the collection. I think this sister company is based in Fairfax, VA.

You need to consider filing BK 7 while you are still in school so that everything is taken care of when you get out. You don't have a job and you don't own anything so it will be quick and easy. You don't need to have a bunch of collection agencies coming after your new paycheck with your new employer after getting out of college. That will not be good. And trying to deal with collection agencies is impossible. If they EVER find out where you work, then the garnishments will proceed. Do not ever tell them anything...nothing....nana. When they call, tell them that you are not the person they are looking for and that talking with that person would be a waste of time since she is deaf, dumb and blind...that she is in an iron lung and can't move. You get the idea???? Tell them nothing...EVER. Collection agencies are the lowest form of scum in the world. They will tell you anything to try to get you to pay some money because they are on commission. At first they will be nice then it will get nastier and nastier. But what ever you do, NEVER tell them where you work.

If you do file a BK7, then you might want to consider thinking up a really creative excuse for it and place it in you Credit files since many employers check credit as part of the hiring process. A BK7 with a good legitimate sounding excuse (i.e. sickness in the family or an accident) for it is going probably look better than several charged off CC with no excuse.

If you don't do a BK7, then they will probably just keep coming after you until they get a garnishment. Think about it.
