They can be fought, others who posted here have done so.

How old is the debt to MBNA(when did you last pay MBNA) and what State are you in.

If there are indications on your credit report of mortgage inquiries for refinancing or purchase, W &A and many other sleazebag CA's will dredge up time-barred and try to squeeze people into paying something they don't legally have to.
