I'm going to defer to the real experts here on that because I'm still trying to find case law or an FTC opinion to support my statement about permissible purpose, but I have heard it said quite a few times that the holder of a past-the-SOL debt doesn't have PP.

I have also heard before that the CRAs have refused to remove such inquiries by bottom-feeder junk debt buyers...this is clearly one of the areas of FCRA that needs legislative or judicial clarification and fast!

Sorry, didn't mean to confuse you but I want to know the answer to this too--I'll keep looking.
