charge offs/why chat ,patty someone

i have an cc acct that was sold or assigned by the OC(does it make a difference) to two different CA's at different times after the sol was up both times. they changed the acct # by two numbers and the balance due but it is the same exact acct. The OC and the two CA's are all showing a balance due. what should i do it looks as if i have charge offs on three separate actts, for alot of money when it is in fact one acct thats dla was 3/98 i'm in california. thanks please advise
