I have received a summons from a collector who is trying to collect on a 12 year old debt. In my answer to the summons I mentioned that the SOL has expired and the debt is uncollectable. The court sent me and the plaintiff an order to appear for a case management conference. Will the plaintiff have to prove that this is true by providing the original contract?

Also I understand that if the contract is "signed under seal" the SOL will extend to 20 years. This still has to be proved by showing the original contract, correct?
