Credit card turned over to CA-should I still pay?

I have stupidly made rather sparadic payments on a credit card over the last two years and they apparently got sick of me and turned it over to a CA. I responded with Why Chat's validation letter. Thanks Why Chat! I had budgeted to make a payment to the original creditor next week but I am afraid if I pay it I will be calling attention to myself and pouring gas on a fire. I would rather pay the original creditor than a CA.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
