I received a fax this morning from Northland Group. Their own fax machines transmittal stamp has it coming in at 6:51a.m.!

Now the letter that was faxed was in response to my 5 day validation (already did the 30day in June).

It states "Attached is the documentation you requested from the original creditor, Capital One."
(Note from Bob:I did not ask for anything from the OC)
"Since requesting the information from our client, Capital One, the account was closed in our office on June 26, 2003 and returned to original creditor. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Capital One at:
(It lists a Richmond VA address)

"We have also set a form in for deletion of the inquires by Northland Group, Inc. to your credit report regarding the above account. If you have any questions please feel free to call us at 1-800-800-8191.

Sincerely, blah blah blah

Now the letter says they are deleting "inquires", not tradelines. At the bottom of the letter is the mini-miranda.

Opinions?

Since the fax came in at 7am and it says it is an attempt to collect a debt (via mini miranda at the bottom) -- this is a violation, correct?
