Chexsystems sucks, especially if you are on the bad end of it. I've been on Chexsystems for 3 years now, and I'm still there. However, I do have a checking and savings account at a credit union. Credit unions are more lenient as far as people with a mark on Chexsystems. I am not saying they will open an account for you, but lets use common sense. First of all, credit unions are more sensitive to customer needs since they have less customers than banks. Secondly, they are looking for more customers. Also, credit unions have a lot better rates than banks. The only downside to credit unions is that they can be inconvenient at times if you happen to live far away from one. Fortunately, for me, I bank with a fairly large credit union which has over 24 branches in the Southern California region. Wescom Credit Union. I highly recommend them if you are in Southern Cali.
