If there was a claim filed, then there should have been proof of service. You need to obtain copies of what was filed, what they claimed as proof of service and the correct Court forms for fiing an answer, notice of appearance and motion for dismssal.

There is a 3 year SOL in Md. for credit card accounts, so you have an absolute defense.

In addition, you probably have excellent grounds for a countersuit on FDCPA and Md. statutory violations.
