Free TU credit report and easy disputing

I have found that you can get a free credit report from TransUnion at www.worthknowing.com. You can do this once every 90 days. No spamming, no fees, no credit card needed. (No, I do not work for them, just a very cheap consumer! LOL) Then, if you find inconsistancies on your free report, go directly to the Trans Union site and dispute them. Don't put anything in when it asks for the report number as you don't need one. The dispute process works as I tried to obtain a copy directly from TU last night through the automated system 1-800 number (thanks a million to whomever contributed that here!) and was told that they were unable to process my request as my account was currently being disputed. Cost to make the call-free...cost for the report-free....cost to dispute.....free.....removal of negative items on my report (hopefully)--PRICELESS!! The Experian site will also give you a free report if you have been denied credit within the last 90 days, and you can dispute the items at that time. That's two CRA's down and no money out at all. I went to PrivacyGuard, paid their $1.00 to try for three months, and checked on Equifax. I had to order a report from them but just called the automated 1-800 number and requested one as you can't dispute anything without a report number directly from Equifax. I was given a confirmation, so it should be on the way.......disputing to begin upon arrival. So far....only $1.00 has passed out of my pocket (cancelled the Privacy Guard), and I could have done the same thing for nothing...but hey....the 3-in-1 was cool...plus I got a score out of it. Hope this helps others out there seeking ways to both find their report, and ways to dispute items with ease and savings! w8ingpatiently
